Minimum number of individuals - long bones

Estimation of the minimum number of individuals (MNI) from osteometric measurements taken on the humerus, radius, femur and tibia, by successive elimination (RAE method): each measurement is compared to the others through prediction intervals (linear regression, 99% interval), and measurements that cannot belong to any already-counted individual are counted in turn.

Expected format

A .csv file, columns separated by ";", decimals with ",". One column per measurement (acronym as header), one measured value per line - the other columns left empty on that line.

Limits

  • Limits of use not yet documented: the description of the collection used to establish the 182 regression pairs (institution, country, sample size, what is documented) remains to be written. Do not use for casework before this is completed.
